Get to know the RHO

The Rental Housing Owners Association of Southern Alameda County (RHO) is your Rental Housing Specialist.


In conjunction with the California Apartment Association (CAA) and the National Apartment Association (NAA), the RHO is dedicated to preserving and enhancing rental housing in Southern Alameda County.

By providing education, information, local governmental advocacy, services and products, we help our members operate their rental property successfully and profitably.

RHO is the local leader in promoting fair and ethical rental housing practices amongst rental property owners and managers.

The RHO is member-controlled and is not owned by a private broker entity that profits from your membersip.

While RHO membership includes three different publication subscriptions, magazine publication is not our main aim. We provide you with compete protection and advocacy. Not only will we will we give you at least one good idea to make or save money, but we will provide education resources and protection that no "broker association" serving our area can!

The RHO is governed by a Board of Directors, which is elected by the general membership. We serve the Cities of San Leandro, Castro Valley, Hayward, Fremont, Union City, Newark, Dublin, Pleasanton and Livermore. We also serve all unincorporated areas in Southern Alameda County. Our Member Service Center is centrally located in Hayward.

We are part of the CAA and NAA Networks and, as a member of the RHO, you are automatically enrolled as a member of both. CAA and NAA monitor your interests in both Sacramento and Washington DC. They provide direct support to the RHO and other network partners , providing seamless representation from San Diego to Eureka, and nationwide.
